The entrepreneur, researcher, psychologist and DJ, Hoa Ly combines cutting edge technology and scientific method for his own personal development, to develop his companies — and his stage performances as an artist.
During the lecture “Make science of your life” Hoa will show how smartphones enable us to take a scientific perspective on our own lives, test hypotheses, gather data and in a completely new way use this for our own development.
Hoa is the CEO and co-founder of Hoa's Tool Shop, researcher in clinical psychology at Linköping University, co-founder of Psykologifabriken and one of the organizers of Health Hack Day. Last but not least he is a music lover and DJ, and regularly plays alongside prime music exports such as Adrian Lux, Miike Snow and Dada Life.

2011 was a big year for Hoa. After founding Hoa’s Tool Shop in february the company was named one of Europe’s most promising startups by Wired Magazine, listed as one of Sweden’s top 25 web entreprenurial companies by Internetworld and selected as one of nine young innovative Swedish companies to receive the Vinnova Vinn-Nu grant of €30.000. In addition, Hoa’s Tool Shop’s application Viary was shortlisted for a Swedish Golden Mobile Award.
After being named Student of the year at Uppsala university in 2010 he quickly made the list of Sweden’s up and coming stars by career magazine Shortcut in 2011. In 2012 Hoa has started to make some serious noise as a fresh and original voice on the topic of how technology and science can help us live better lives and build smarter organizations. Hoa has already been featured in several big national media outlets, such as SVT Rapport, TV4 Nyhetsmorgon and Dagens Nyheter and has got his sights set on the big stages this year - both as a speaker and DJ.
